The island was originally two islands taking up a total of 1.2 square kilometres, with shallow water and dead reefs taking up a total of 23.7 square kilometres. Since nobody technically owned the island (though the Americans had laid an unofficial claim to it in 1889) and nobody wanted it, the island was bought for a mere $40 grand. They also needed to find an out-of-the-way place to secretly assemble the advanced computer systems of Jurassic Park, so John Hammond bought the island, pretending to make it the site of a future tourist resort. Site C was bought by InGen in 1992 after the completion of the first five menagerie buildings on Isla Sorna proved not to be enough to hold the total amount of dinosaurs and a mercenary sent by BioSyn discovered the island and almost managed to steal a Compsognathus. Site C is likely to be an island which has lots of dinosaurs roaming around including the oldest species of them such as: Eoraptor, Lesothosaurus, Herrerasaurus and much more. It also served as the manufacturing site for the computer systems needed to run the ill-fated Jurassic Park. It was around 24 square kilometres, slightly larger than Isla Nublar, and was an extra storage for dinosaurs after the storage pens on Isla Sorna became too crowded. Site C was an island located in the South Pacific close to 750 kilometres from the Five Deaths.
